Families of Israeli captives start protest against Netanyahu’s cabinet

Tehran, IRNA – Families of Israeli captives held by Hamas in Gaza poured onto streets from the Gaza border to al-Quds city to protest against the policies and actions of the cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israeli media outlets reported that the families of captives residing in southern occupied territories started the protest rally on Wednesday morning.

Some 70 families along with a music band attended the rally, urging the Israeli cabinet to make all-out efforts to pave the way for immediate release of the captives.

Ronen Bergman, Israeli investigative journalist of Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that the captives are tired and the settlers are subject to fake and distorted news stories, and the strategy of military pressure for the release of the captives has not been successful, while their freedom is possible only using consensus.

Bergman also wrote that the regime’s army sunk into the swamp of Gaza, describing the defeat of the Palestinian resistance in military operation as unattainable.

Reuters quoted informed sources on Tuesday that Hamas received a ceasefire draft proposal, which proposes the cessation of military operations for 40 days and the prisoner swap at an overall ratio of 10 Palestinian to one Israeli captive.
