The joint action plan for the development of sports cooperation was signed in the presence of sports ministers from both countries on February 15, and now, the deputy sports ministers of the two sides have met in Tehran to pave the way for forming a joint committee to follow up the implementation of the action plan.
Iranian Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Mohammad Shervin Asbaghian and Russian Deputy Sports Minister Alexei Morozov along with some other officials from both countries took part in the meeting.
Representatives of wrestling, handball, and football federations of Russia announced virtually that their federations are ready to expand cooperation with their peers in Iran.
The representatives of the three Russian federations also voiced satisfaction with the opportunity to increase cooperation and expressed their views in this respect.
