According to Mehrdad Khosravi, the director general of the Iranian Industry Ministry's Auto Industry Office, Iranian carmakers managed to manufacture about 1,230,000 vehicles in the mentioned 11 months which shows a 6% growth compared to the same period last year.
During the mentioned period, some 1,040,000 passenger vehicles were produced, which shows a 6% growth compared to the 980,000 vehicles produced in the same period last year, he added.
Khosravi stated that in the mentioned period, 152,000 vans were manufactured in the country, which has grown by 34% compared to the same period last year.
This official with the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry in his remarks added that in 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year some 34,000 types of heavy vehicles (trucks, mini trucks, and tractors) were produced with a growth of 10%.
The reports by the director general of the Iranian Industry Ministry's Auto Industry Office shows that in the 11 months of the current Iranian year, some 280,000 cars were produced in the private sector, which shows a 61% increase compared to the production of 173,000 cars in the same period last year.
