The new ambassador presented a report to Iran's foreign minister on Saturday about his upcoming mission, underscoring the importance of the longstanding relations between Iran and Thailand as a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
He also highlighted the significance of strengthening commercial and economic ties with ASEAN members, especially Thailand, and advocated for further enhancement of political, parliamentary, and economic relations with the new government in Bangkok.
Prior to his appointment as ambassador to Thailand, Heidari served in various capacities at Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
Bangkok serves as the headquarters of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and Iran’s ambassador will simultaneously serve as the Islamic Republic's representative to the international body.
