Israeli police clash with anti-Netanyahu protesters

Tehran, IRNA – Israeli police have clashed with people, including settlers staging yet another protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right coalition in Tel Aviv, media reports say.

According to Israeli media reports, clashes erupted as protesters chanted slogans against Netanyahu and demanded him to resign from his post along with his cabinet.

Angry protesters also demanded the immediate signing of an agreement with the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas to get the Israeli captives back home.

The police made several arrests, including the members of the families of the captives held by Palestinians resistance fighters in the Gaza Strip

The Israeli police then used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, reports said.

Since the beginning of Al-Aqsa storm operation on October 7th, Israelis have held a number of massive demonstrations against the policies of Netanyahu while demanding him to speed up the release of those who remained held by Hamas in Gaza.

Hamas captured some 240 Israelis, among them some foreigners during the surprised operation.

As part of a week-long humanitarian ceasefire, brokered by Qatar and Egypt, Hamas swapped 240 Palestinian abductees with 105 captives, including 81 Israelis and 24 foreigners, in Gaza.

Israel believes about 137 prisoners are still being held in Gaza but recently resistance fighters reported the death of many of the captives in Israeli bombing of the besieged strip.
