Gaza has turned into death zone: WHO

Tehran, IRNA- The head of the World Health Organization says the Gaza Strip has become a death zone as relentless Israeli airstrikes and shelling keep taking innocent lives and turning the territory into the rubble.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned on the UN news website that the situation continues to deteriorate in terms of the health situation whileinhumane conditions prevail throughout Gaza.

He stated that many areas of Gaza have been destroyed, killing people and forcing a large number of them to flee to other parts.

Ghebreyesus also touched on the problem of severe malnutrition, saying it has increased dramatically throughout the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.

“While before the war, less than one percent of the population of Gaza suffered from malnutrition. Severely malnourished numbers have reached more than 15% of the population in some areas”,
