--  Iran’s ‘Paper Dream’ wins at Abu Dhabi Film Festival

Iranian film ‘Paper Dream,’ directed by Ali Atashani, won the Best Film Award at the Abu Dhabi International Film Festival. The film premiered in Iran on February 14 and secured the top honor at its 91st international screening in Abu Dhabi.
Presented by Shokoufa Film domestically, with distribution and promotion overseen by Saeed Pakistani, ‘Paper Dream’ has been screened at various international festivals, collecting significant awards from different global events including Best Director Award at the South Texas International Film Festival in the U.S. city of Edinburg.

-- ‘Smart Kid’ hits $1.24m, third most viewed film of year

The Iranian animated film ‘Smart Kid’, produced by Hamed Ja’fari, reached a significant milestone in the children’s cinema, surpassing the $1.24 million sales.
‘Smart Kid’ is the only non-comedic Iranian film to enter the $1.20 Iranian cinema, being categorized among the top six highest-grossing films in the history of Iranian cinema.

-- Iran’s Farhadi to be awarded in Belgrade for his contribution to film art

Award Belgrade Victor for Outstanding Contribution to Film Art at the 52nd International Film Festival FEST, which runs from February 23 until March 3, goes to Iran’s two-time Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi.
Two-time Oscar winner Farhadi, an Iranian film director and screenwriter, who will receive the Belgrade Victor on 29 February in the Serbian capital, is considered one of the most prominent filmmakers of Iranian and world cinematography of the 21st century.

---  Iran: Munich Security Conference on Wrong Track

Iran on Monday denounced the organizers of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) for taking advantage of the forum to express their unconstructive opinions and inviting Zionist officials to the event.
“We are decidedly worried about the Munich Security Conference and about the purposes its founders had defined,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani told reporters here.

--  Iraq, Iran to Cooperate on Sustainable Soil Management

Iranian and Iraqi officials in the soil and water sectors held an expert-level joint meeting aimed at taking advantage of Iran’s capabilities and potential in the field of sustainable soil management.
During the meeting, Director General of Iran’s Soil and Water Research Institute (SWRI) Hadi Asadi Rahmani said the achievements of the research institute play a key role in formulating Iran’s cultivation pattern which can be implemented in neighboring Iraq as well.

--  Official: Iran Ready to Host Saudi Cultural Week

Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Muhammad Mehdi Imanipour has said that Tehran is ready to host Saudi Arabia’s cultural week.
In a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Iran Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anzi here, Imanipour emphasized the importance of cultural and scientific ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia, stating that cultural ties serve as the safest way to bring the two nations closer to each other.

-- Iran beat Tahiti to advance to 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup quarters

 Iran will face United Arab Emirates in the quarterfinals after both concluded their FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2024 Dubai group campaigns with wins on Monday.

Iran came from behind to beat Tahiti 5-3 to finish top of Group B while the UAE defeated Italy 3-1 on penalties after a goalless draw in their Group A tie.  The hosts, however, finished second behind the European side on goal difference and will play Iran on Thursday.

--  Renowned Tajik Musician Davlatmand Kholov, known to Iranians for his Imam Reza song, passes away

After a long battle with cancer, the celebrated Tajik virtuoso and music composer Davlatmand Kholov, known to many Iranians for his heartfelt rendition of the piece "Shah Panaham Bedeh” (King, Save Me), passed away on Monday. He was 74. 

Kholov was highly regarded by pioneer musicians of Tajikistan. His timeless Piece "Shah Panaham Bedeh” is dedicated to Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shiite imam, and has been cherished by both Tajik and Iranian audiences alike.

-- Iran’s export to EAEU members rises 11% in 10 months yr/yr

The value of Iran’s exports to the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 11 percent in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023-January 20, 2024) as compared to the same period last year, the spokesman of the International Relations and Trade Development Committee of Iran's House of Industry, Mining and Trade said.

According to Ruhollah Latifi, the Islamic Republic exported 3.370 million tons of commodities worth $1.337 billion to the members of the Eurasian Economic Union in the mentioned 10 months.
