Palestinian journalist lauds media for Gaza coverage

Tehran, IRNA - Palestinian Journalist, Vida Verde has said that the media played a significant role in reflecting the developments in Gaza and the suffering of the Palestinians amid the Zionist regime's aggression there.

Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the 24th Iran Media Expo in Tehran on Monday, Verde also criticized some Arab and Islamic media for their negligence in highlighting the Palestinian issues.

For example, they did not have enough coverage with regard to  Occupied Palestine or southern Lebanon and for that matter achievements of Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement during the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation, she added.

Verda called the Media Expo an an opportunity for journalists and media outlets to exchange views on the negative and positive points and review what they can do in the future.

The Zionist regime launched its genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, into the occupied territories.

The Israeli war has so far claims 29,092 Palestinian lives and wounded 69,028, mostly women and children.

The 24th Iran Media Expo was inaugurated by Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili on Sunday.

Numerous newspapers, including Kayhan, Hamshahri, and Jam-e-Jam, actively participated in the event held in Tehran.

Additionally, several Iranian news websites, such as Khamenei.ir and dolat.ir, contributed to the cultural event other than Saba, Resaneh, Bokhara, Noormagz, and Noor News representing Iranian monthlies and journals .

Al-Manar and Al-Mayadeen are among international media outlets present at the expo.
