Israeli forces arrested 70 health personnel at Nasser hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis, including a doctor in charge of the intensive care unit, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra said in a statement on Sunday.
Dozens of Palestinian patients were also rounded up from their beds and taken to unknown locations, he added.
Al-Qidra lamented that seven patients had already died as the hospital ran out of oxygen due to the Israeli raid, and there were fears of more deaths as dozens of patinas were in critical conditions.
The World Health Organization (WHO) sounded alarm about the situation in Nasser Hospital, which has been under deadly Israeli siege and shelling for nearly a month.
WHO Chief Edros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed on Sunday that the hospital was “no longer functional” with about 200 patients trapped inside.
The Israeli regime has repeatedly attacked hospitals and medical centers in Gaza since launching the ongoing genocidal war on October 7, crippling the health care system in the besieged Palestinian territory.
