Popular foreign platforms to be accessible in Iran

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Supreme Council of Cyberspace has obliged internet regulators to identify widely-used foreign platforms that meet people’s needs so as to provide the conditions for their activity in the country, according to the National Center for Cyberspace.

Mohammad Amin Aghamiri, the head of the National Center for Cyberspace, gave the final approval to the resolutions of the 96th session of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace on providing access to government-approved foreign platforms, organizing messaging apps, and creating a national comprehensive data center.

The first resolution requires internet regulators to identify the foreign platforms that can offer their services in the form of templates so that they can be active in Iran.

Under the resolution, the National Center for Cyberspace must also issue a license for the private sector’s activity to the regulators after a review.
