Dehghani said on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday that Iran and Uzbekistan have carried out preliminary discussions for launching the necessary infrastructure to build the joint science and technology park.
He said a place has been allocated for setting up the technology park which will probably be near the main university in the city of Samarkand, adding that the two countries continue talks for finding a precise location of the park between for issuing a call for knowledge-based companies and startups to join the initiative.
The official said that Tehran expects joint works for launching the technology park in Samarkand to end before May 2024.
