Axis of Resistance owes its power to Islamic Revolution: Nasrallah

Tehran, IRNA – The secretary-general of Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah has extended his gratitude to Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) for supporting the Axis of Resistance in the battle against the Israeli regime.

“From the very beginning, the IRGC has been a real backer and strong supporter of all resistance groups,” Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech on Tuesday to mark the Veterans Day.

“The power of the Axis of Resistance today is owed to this Islamic Revolution,” the Hezbollah chief said, while congratulating the Iranian nation on the 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

Honoring the martyrs and wounded soldiers of the Resistance, Nasrallah said their pure blood has brought about “many achievements.”

He hailed the steadfastness and resilience of Palestinian resistance fighters in the Gaza Strip, who have bravely countered the Israeli aggression for over four months.

“In the 130 days since the start of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, the Zionist regime has failed to achieve any of its goals,” Nasrallah said.

The Hezbollah chief said what the Lebanese resistance group is doing in support of Gaza is a “national duty” and in line with “our moral and religious values.”

Hezbollah fighters have been launching cross-border rocket and missile attacks against Israeli positions deep inside the occupied territories since the regime started its genocidal war in Gaza early in October.

Nasrallah pointed out that a strong Zionist regime poses a threat to the entire region.

“The interest of the countries of the region comes before the interest of the Palestinians in Israel's withdrawal from Gaza following its defeat,” he added.

Hezbollah has entered the battle, he noted, first to preserve the national interests of Lebanon and then to prevent an Israeli victory.

Addressing the Western governments, Nasrallah said their campaign of “intimidation and pressure” will not sap the resolve of the Resistance to fight the enemy.

“The Zionist regime is in a critical situation and is not in a position to impose its conditions on us,” he said.

Nasrallah further said that if the Israeli military moved to widen the war, Hezbollah would do the same.

He added that the resistance movement will end its cross-border shelling into the Israeli-occupied territories only when the aggression on Gaza stops.
