Iranian Foreign Hossein Amirabdollahian, who is on a visit to Qatar, held talks with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The top diplomat termed the relations between Iran and Qatar as “very good”.
He emphasized that the full implementation of agreements between the two countries would further strengthen their friendly and fraternal ties.
Expressing gratitude to Qatar for its mediating and benevolent role in specific cases related to Iran, Amirabdollahian highlighted the constructive cooperation between the two nations on regional and international issues.
This bilateral cooperation has the potential to enhance regional and international peace, stability, and security, he added.
Regarding the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime during the Gaza war, Amirabdollahian elaborated on Iran’s efforts to end the ongoing conflict and address the suffering of Palestinians.
He stressed the importance of continuing and accelerating Tehran Doha's joint efforts to achieve a political solution to end the Zionist genocide in Palestine, lifting the siege of Gaza, urgently sending humanitarian aid, preventing the evacuation of Palestinians, and helping the Palestinian-Palestinian solution to manage Gaza and the West Bank in the post-war phase and reconstructing the ruins.
Amirabdollahian called the approach adopted by the US regarding the crisis in Gaza contradictory.
The attack against Yemen and the attacks in Iraq and Syria, while fully supporting the Israeli regime's warmongering moves, contradict the claims of the US administration, he underscored.
‘Iran, Qatar ties have never been so close’
For his part, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, stated that the two sides ties have been never so close.
This demonstrates that the two states have succeeded in advancing the brotherly and constructive relations, he further noted.
He expressed gratitude for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ongoing diplomatic efforts in support of Palestine and its commitment to finding a political solution to end the war in Gaza.
Furthermore, he highlighted the recent outcomes of Qatar’s diplomatic endeavors, which aim to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and resolve the crisis in the region.
During the meeting, both sides discussed how to sustain collaborative efforts in supporting the Palestinian people, ending Israeli attacks on Gaza, providing humanitarian aid to Gaza, and seeking a Palestinian governance solution.
The two officials called for further cooperation and coordination in this regard.
