According to Al Mayadeen TV channel, Amirabdollahian who is visiting Lebanon to hold talks with Lebanese politicians, met with Nasrallah on Saturday and the two sides discussed various issues, including recent developments in the region such as the Gaza war, southern Lebanon, and other resistance groups.
On Friday, the Iranian foreign minister arrived in Beirut, which is the first leg of his regional tour. The top diplomat is scheduled to hold discussions with senior Lebanese officials on the complete cessation of the Israeli criminal war on Gaza, the removal of the siege of the strip, and the issue of governance of the besieged area in the post-war era.
Amirabdollahian meets Palestinian resistance leaders
The FM also held talks with resistance leaders such as Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ziyad Nakhalah, Hamas representative in Lebanon Osama Hamdan, and deputy secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Jamil Mazhar in Beirut.
The resistance officials emphasized that as a result of steadfastness by the Palestinians, signs of victory of the Palestinian people are emerging, and that the Israeli enemy is suffering from internal and international pressures and the regime could achieve none of its announced objectives in the war on Gaza.
The Palestinian resistance leaders also extended congratulations on the 45th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and expressed gratitude for Tehran’s support during the four-month-long Israeli aggression.
The Iranian minister highlighted victories of the Palestinian resistance fighters on the ground, noting that one of the achievements of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm is that the issue of Palestine has once more turned into the top priority of the Islamic world and the international community and that the resistance movement has consolidated its undeniable position in Palestine and regional equations.
It is worth mentioning that this is Amirabdollahian’s third visit to Lebanon since the onset of Israeli regime’s aggression against Gaza.
