During a Wednesday meeting with Oman’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Diplomatic Affairs Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthi, Farhang officially started his mission in Muscat by submitting a copy of his credentials to him.
Al-Harthi congratulated the Iranian ambassador on his new post, expressing hope that his constructive activities would help strengthen ties between the two countries.
Farhang has previously held senior positions in various departments of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and served at several embassies and representative offices of Iran in other countries, including in Tanzania where he was ambassador.
He has replaced Ali Najafi Khoshroudi in his new post in Oman.
