Syria’s official news agency SANA reported on Tuesday that about 160 storage tankers carrying oil and grains were transferred from Syria’s al-Jazeera region, occupied by US forces, heading across the border to Iraq.
Of those tankers, 84 were carrying oil looted from the oil-rich region and headed toward the illegal Mahmoudiyya crossing.
US forces also brought 76 tankers loaded with grains stolen from grain silos, which have been seized by US-backed militants in northeastern Syria.
The US military has occupied regions in northeastern Syria under the pretext of preventing the oil fields from falling into the hands of Daesh terrorists.
The Syrian government has maintained that the US military presence is illegal and aimed at plundering the country’s oil.
