The president made the comments while in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with visiting Acting Foreign Minister of Sudan Ali Al-Sadiq Ali.
Raisi said in the meeting that reopening of embassies and the exchange of ambassadors in Tehran and Khartoum would pave the way for the revival of bilateral ties between Iran and Sudan.
He also referred to the developments going on in the West Asia region and urged the need for Muslim countries to distance themselves from the Israeli regime.
The Sudanese foreign minister, for his part, said that Khartoum is ready to resume diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Al-Sadiq hailed Iran’s support for the Sudanese people in the international organizations and said that his country is eager to give a boost to trade and economic relations with Iran.
