The 7th round of Iranian-Uzbek political consultations took place in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Bagheri Kani and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloyev discussed the latest situation and prospects for cooperation in political, security, economic, and cultural fields at bilateral, regional, and international levels.
Pointing to the growing ties between the two countries, the two sides emphasized the regular holding of political consultations aimed at accelerating cooperation in various fields.
Referring to the existing potential between the two countries, Bagheri Kani called for strengthening mutual ties with Uzbekistan, noting that Iran has no limits to expanding ties.
Aloyev, for his part, pointed to the importance and position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, hailing the progress of Iran in various fields of science and technology despite sanctions.
He expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with Iran within the framework of regional and international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the United Nations.
