Iranian assistant FM calls Amirabdollahian's visit to Pakistan a turning point

Tehran, IRNA – An aide to the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that the minister's recent visit to Pakistan turned threats that could affect bilateral ties to opportunities.

Rasoul Mousavi, who serves as Director General of Iran Foreign Ministry’s South Asia Affairs, wrote in a Persian post on the X on Tuesday that Amirabdollahian's visit to Islamabad that took place a day earlier was an opportunity to move on from "incidents" toward a better future in bilateral ties.

Mousavi was referring to missile strikes carried out by Iran and Pakistan earlier this month on targets controlled by terrorists in border regions.

"What happened in Iran-Pakistan ties was a threat that was turned into an opportunity with the visit by our country's foreign minister (to Pakistan)," said the diplomat.
