-- Iran exports nearly $30b worth of oil in 10 months: IRICA

Iran exported $29.9 billion worth of oil products in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2023), registering a 10% growth in terms of value compared to the same period last year, announced the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Some 113 million tons of goods, valued at $40.5 billion, were exported from the country between March 21, 2023, and January 22, 2024, with oil, luggage trade, electricity and techno-engineering services excluded, Mohammad Rezvanifar added.

--  Iranian minister’s Uzbekistan visit fruitful: TPO

The deputy director of International Business Promotion of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) highlighted the achievements of a visit by Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Abbas Aliabadi to Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the Iranian administration aims to make use of political capacities to expand economic relations with countries in the region.
“Considering the approach of the current administration for maximum utilization of political capacities for development of economic and commercial relations, this opportunity can be used in the best possible manner,” Mohammad-Sadeq Qanadzadeh said on Monday, referring to Aliabadi’s recent trip to Tashkent.

--  Oil, gas industry productivity growth hits 16.3%

Iran’s oil and gas industry has witnessed a 16.3 percent productivity growth during the 6th National Development Plan (to end March 19, 2024).
The oil and gas industry’s productivity has soared to 12.6 percent, from -3.7 percent, as domestic economy’s productivity rate has reached 3.7 percent from 0.8 percent, showing the country’s productivity and economic growth is indebted to the oil industry more than to other sectors.

--  Iran Says Has No Role in Decisions of Resistance Groups

Regional resistance groups do not take orders from Iran, nor does the Islamic Republic have a role in their decisions to carry out retaliatory operations in defense of the Palestinian people, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Monday.
“Iran is not involved in the resistance groups’ decisions about how to support the Palestinian people or defend themselves and the people of their countries in the face of any aggression and occupation,” he told a weekly news briefing.

--  Exports From Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Up 226%

Head of Customs Administration of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari province Ali Asghar Abdollahi has said that the volume of the non-oil goods exported from the province in the first 10 months of the Iranian calendar year registered a 226% hike compared to the same period last year.
Abdollahi noted that 325,000 tons of non-oil products, valued at $155 million, were exported from this province between March 21, 2023, and January 22, 2024, showing a 115% growth in value compared to last year’s corresponding period.

-- Minister: $1bn Annual Trade Between Tehran, Tashkent Feasible

Iran and Uzbekistan can boost the annual bilateral trade to $1 billion, the Iranian Industry Minister Abbas Aliabadi said.
The two countries have high capacities and potentials to enhance the mutual trade, so attaining $1 billion worth of trade between the two countries is possible, Iran’s minister of industry, mine and trade stated.

--  Iran handball fall short of expectations

Iranian national handball team fell short of expectations at the 2024 Asian Handball Championship, finishing at sixth place.

Despite their efforts, they were unable to secure a higher ranking in a tournament dominated by Qatar and Japan, who claimed the championship the first and the latter became runners-up.

--  16th Fajr Visual Arts Festival kicks off at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art

The 16th Fajr Visual Arts Festival kicked off at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA) on Sunday.

Organized under the slogan “Innovative, Creative, Unifying, and Hopeful Art,” the festival offers 771 artworks of different mediums by 517 artists in two competitive and non-competitive sections, the secretary general of the festival said at the opening ceremony.

--  ‘ROPME should help launch regional center for biodiversity in Iran’

A series of measures have been taken so far for setting up a regional center for biodiversity in Iran. Still, the Regional Organization for the Protection of Marine Environment (ROPME) should support the country in this regard, an official with the Department of Environment (DOE) has said.

“We announce our full readiness to cooperate with regional countries to implement this strategic plan and support all efforts to secure a sustainable marine environment,” IRNA quoted Mojtaba Zoljoodi as saying.
