The contract was inked between Fontanills and President of Iran’s Boxing Federation Rouhollah Hosseini in Tehran on Saturday.
Under the terms of the agreement, the prominent boxing coach will lead the national Iranian team until the end of 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris on August 11. The agreement can also be extended.
Fontanills, who is known as the theorist of the world boxing, has been the head coach of Thailand National Boxing Team for years, helping Thai boxers gain numerous medals in different editions of Olympic games.
His men have also snatched 15 medals in several editions of Asian Games.
