Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that the relations between Tehran and Ankara have entered "a new chapter".

A new chapter began with the visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Turkiye, Amirabdollahian wrote on his X page, IRNA reported on Friday.

Official meeting between the Iranian president and his Turkish counterpart was the start of a new phase in the two countries' regional and bilateral relations, Amirabdollahian noted.

Mutual agreements are within the framework of the neighborhood policy and the variety of cooperation in all areas including trade, investment, industry and tourism, according to the foreign minister.

The Iranian president headed a political and economic delegation to the northwestern neighboring country on Wednesday (January 24) to participate in the 8th meeting of the Iran-Turkiye Supreme Council of Economic Cooperation.
