-- India in talks with Iran to resume crude oil imports
Indian sources said the country is willing to resume importing Iranian crude oil, adding that the issue was discussed in recent bilateral meetings held between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
India is reportedly considering the resumption of crude oil imports from Iran following the escalation of fighting in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden near Yemen.

The head of the organizing committee of the Export Potentials Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran said it is expected that more than $4 billion worth of trade contracts and agreements will be inked at the Iran EXPO 2024.
Speaking at the conference of introducing the event, Majid Takbiri stated that the exhibition industry is considered an important means to showcase the production capacities of goods and services of Iran.
-- Iranian ports handle 194m tons of goods in 10 months
A total of 194 million tons of goods was loaded and unloaded at ports affiliated to the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (from March 21, 2023, to January 22, 2024), a report said.
More than 23 million tons of oil products were unloaded at the Iranian ports from March 21, 2023, to January 22, 2024, it said.

-- India’s National Listing of Persian as Classical Language
In a move that has brought cheer to the lovers of the Persian language in India, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar last week announced the decision to incorporate it as one of the nine classical languages under the country’s New Education Policy.
“The government of India has decided to include Farsi as one of the nine classical languages of India in our New Education Policy,” the top Indian diplomat remarked during his two-day visit to Tehran, while addressing a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir-Abdollahian, citing cultural, literary, and linguistic connections between Iran and India.

Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Pirhossein Kolivand has urged the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to commit to its duties to help Gaza.
Speaking in a meeting with Manuel Bessler, the Vice President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Kolivand criticized the failure to send enough humanitarian shipments to Gaza after 100 days of war in the enclave.

Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force’s Space Division General Ali Jafarabadi has said that the IRGC prepared to send the satellites of other countries into space.
In comments at a TV appearance, General Ali Jafarabadi hailed the successful cooperation between the IRGC and the administration in the launch of the homegrown ‘Soraya’ satellite, which was sent into a low Earth orbit (LEO) with the ‘Qaem-100’ satellite carrier on Saturday.

The value of Iran’s exports to China increased by 30 percent in December 2023 as compared to the same month in 2022, according to China’s Customs data. Iran exported $404 million worth of products to China in December 2023, while the figure was only $311 million in December 2022, Tasnim News Agency reported.
As reported, the trade between Iran and China reached $14.65 billion in 2023, registering a 6.2-percent decline, year on year.
