Hassanzadeh received 208 votes among the 21 qualified candidates during the eighth meeting of ICCIMA representatives on Sunday to elect the new president.
Farajollah Me’mari with 181 votes, Ahad Azimzadeh with 15 votes, and Mojtaba Ghiabi with 5 votes ended second to fourth, respectively.
The previous round of the ICCIMA election was held on June 18, when Hossein Selahvarzi was elected as president, but his qualification was not confirmed by Iran's Intelligence Ministry and he was ultimately removed from the position.
