Arab League FMs hold meeting on Iran strikes in Iraq, Syria

Tehran, IRNA- The Arab League foreign ministers have reacted by issuing a joint statement on Iran's recent strikes targeting terrorists in Syria and one of the headquarters of the Israeli spy agency Mossad located in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

The statement was issued during an extraordinary virtual meeting of the Arab League on Wednesday night under the chairmanship and request of Baghdad, following Iran's missile attacks on the Mossad headquarters in Erbil.

According to the statement posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, the ministers condemned the attack on the Iraqi soil, calling it an aggression.

In this statement, however, the Arab League ministers emphasized the need to respect Iraq's sovereignty as well as to support Iraq's international efforts to maintain  sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps launched a number of missiles on Tuesday on gatherings of terrorist commanders in Syria in response to the recent terrorist attacks in the Iranian cities of Kerman and Rask.

The IRGC also announced targeting the spy headquarters of Mossad in Iraq's Kurdistan region, with ballistic missiles in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s terror plot as well as the recent assassination of Iranian and resistance commanders.

Iran’s Defense Minister, Mohammad Reza Ashatiani on Wednesday made it clear that the Islamic Republic respects sovereignty of other countries, especially its neighbors but will never compromise with evil deeds along its borders.
