Adnan al-Sarraj, head of the Center for the Development of Iraqi Media, told Al Ahd TV channel on a Wednesday that Iraq's Kurdish authorities should try to investigate Iran's reasons for targeting areas in the semi-autonomous region.
Al-Sarraj said, however, that Mossad, the Zionist regime's intelligence service, is operating in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and that the Israeli regime considers Erbil as the headquarters of Mossad.
Noting that Iraq's security is related to the security of neighboring countries, he said that both Iran and Kurdistan have a role to play in strengthening the government of the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
The primary security issue related to the Kurdistan region of Iraq is the lack of cooperation with the central government, the analyst underscored.
Al-Sarraj said that even at the height of Iraq's war with ISIS terrorists, the authorities in the Kurdistan region had opposed the entry of Iraqi forces and conveyed the message that Iraqi Kurdistan is a country within Iraq, he further noted.
