Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammadreza Ashtiani had a phone call on Monday during which they discussed ways to expand cooperation and security in the region.
"This issue will be explicitly mentioned in a deal that will be signed between the governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia," General Shoigu said.
In this telephone consultation, the two ministers also pointed out the importance of issues related to regional security and emphasized that Moscow and Tehran will continue their joint efforts in establishing a multipolar world order and negating the unilateralism of the United States.
Also, the Minister of Defense of Russia emphasized on full adherence to sovereignty and territorial integrity, noting that this issue will be explicitly mentioned in the forthcoming agreement that will be signed by the governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia.
