According to Qatar's Al Jazeera network, US planes were patrolling the skies over Sana'a airport, Al-Hodeidah port, and the Rai Isa region in the northwest part of Yemen.
The military patrol was reported at the time the US Department of Defense rejected any attack on Yemen.
Meanwhile, some news sources on Saturday night, including the Al-Mayadeen network reported two massive explosions in the port city of Hodeida in western Yemen.
They cited unknown Yemeni sources as saying that the explosions were nearby the port but hours later Al-Mayadeen said the explosions were not caused by any hostile offensive attacks. However, there were no immediate comments from Yemeni authorities on the incident.
Reports came hours after US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed targeting a radar site in Yemen early on Saturday. That was a second consecutive day of assault on Yemen this week.
On Friday, American and British forces carried out joint attacks on several Yemeni cities including the capital Sana’a in what US President Joe Biden described as “a direct response to” attacks on shipping in the Red Sea, a reference to the Yemeni army’s operations against Israeli-bound ships over the regime’s genocide in Gaza.
The Yemeni army has already censured the attacks, saying the US and the UK “bear full responsibility for the criminal aggression” against the Arab country.
