Millions to march across world on Saturday to demand end of Gaza war

Tehran, IRNA - Millions of protesters are expected to take to the streets in over 121 cities across 45 countries around the world on Saturday to demand an end to the Israeli regime's brutal war on Gaza.

In separate statements on Saturday, the Association of the Palestinian Community in the UK and the Stop The War Coalition said today's marches will form the largest coordinated international movement against the aggression of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip.

The Gaza Global Day of Action will see hundreds of thousands taking to the streets in major capitals, including London, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo and Washington, as Israel faces the charge of genocide at the International Court of Justice.

The protestors will call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza will be joined by the demand that the UK, US and other forces put an end to their attacks on Yemen which they say represent a dangerous escalation of the war in the Middle East.

“This Global Day of Action, from Australia through to Asia, Europe and the Americas, is the first coordinated, international movement against the war being waged by Israel on the Palestinian people. It will send a powerful message not just to the Israelis but to the Western powers who are backing them that the public say not in our name," said prominent anti-war activist Kate Hudson.

“It represents a collective effort, which has been led by the anti-war movement in Britain, that will resonate with a call for change that transcends borders and ideologies," Hudson said.

A  group of anti-war demonstrators gathered late on Thursday outside the White House and in Times Square, in New York, to express their disapproval of US and British attacks against Yemen, claiming that the action threatened to escalate the conflict in Gaza.
