The spokesperson of Yemen’s Armed Forces Yahya Saree issued a statement on Friday saying the US and the UK had carried out 73 direct attacks against Yemen in the early hours of January 12, killing five and injuring six Yemeni forces.

Saree noted that the armed forces in Yemen will not hesitate to hit any party which threatens Yemen.

This aggression will never make us withdraw from our stance to support the Palestinian nation in their fights against oppression, he said.

The US and UK along with other eight countries struck the bases of Yemen’s Ansarullah following United Nations Security Council ratified a resolution to condemn attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.

The resolution had been drafted by the United States and Japan a day earlier.

In response to the US and the UK attacks against Yemeni, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said such aggressive acts are a clear violation of territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Yemen and go against international laws.
