Ansarullah's Office Director Safar al-Sufi made the remarks on Monday as he met with families of those killed in the US attack, Al Jazeera reported.
“The US has opened fire on itself by targeting the Yemeni armed forces,” he said, promising families of the victims that they would soon be pleased with Yemen’s retaliation.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, said last week that the US forces in the Red Sea had attacked three Yemeni boats, killing 10 servicemen.
He warned that US forces will face the consequences of targeting Yemeni boats in the Red Sea.
Yemeni forces have carried out a series of attacks against Israeli-linked ships in the strategic waterway in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
