“The Islamic Republic will support the resistance forces until the destruction of the regime occupying al-Quds, and there is no doubt that the resistance forces alone can stand against the usurper Israel,” Brigadier General Iraj Masjedi said Sunday.
He made the remarks during a commemoration ceremony of the former chief commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a US drone strike on January 3, 2020.
“Our enemies, the Americans and the Zionists, should know that the Islamic forces will not shy away from defending their rights and their lands against the Zionists,” said Masjedi, who also served as Iran’s ambassador to Iraq until April 2022.
He said defending Palestine’s rights is on the agenda of the Islamic Republic and that Iran will pursue the issue vigorously.
The best revenge for the unjustly shed blood is the “harsh revenge” that will be taken by the resistance forces, he asserted.
The Iranian general reiterated that Iran will continue to firmly defend the resistance forces and the Palestinian nation against the occupiers of Islamic lands.
He made clear, however, that the Palestinian resistance forces are fully capable of facing off occupation forces by themselves, as witnessed in the last 90 days, and will continue to resist against the Zionist regime.
The Zionist regime waged an ongoing war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after Palestinian resistance forces carried out a surprise and unprecedented attack into the occupied territories in retaliation for the regime’s intensified violence against Palestinians.
