The resistance group claimed responsibility for the attack on Sunday night hours after the northern Israeli port was hit by a missile attack.
Palestinian and Israeli media had earlier reported the attack off the coast of Haifa, where an explosion was heard and smoke rose above the blast site.
Also on Sunday, Iraqi resistance groups conducted drone strikes on two US bases in the region.
They targeted Ain al-Assad base in Iraq’s western province of Anbar, and Qasrak base in Hasakah, northeast Syria.
The groups meantime hit an Israeli “military position” in the occupied Golan Heights, using “appropriate weapons”.
The Iraqi groups said in a statement that the attacks were part of their resistance against the US military presence in the region. Also, the attacks were, according to the statement, aimed at supporting the people of Gaza and in response to the massacre of Palestinian civilians there by the Israeli regime.
The resistance groups in Iraq have repeatedly hit US and Israeli positions in the region ever since the Gaza war broke out on October 7. They have promised to continue their attacks until the war comes to an end and crimes against Gazans are halted.
