Some 5,350 more villages connected to Iran’s gas grid since Aug. 2020: Official

Tehran, IRNA – Some 5,350 more villages and 41 cities in Iran have been connected to the natural gas grid since Aug. 2020 during President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration, the head of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Majid Chegeni has announced.

Chegeni made the remarks on Saturday on the sideline of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's provincial visit to Zanjan, adding that up to April 2024 some 90% of Iran's rural population will benefit from natural gas supply.

He announced the supply of gas to 8,300 small and large industrial units during President Raisi’s administration.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and a group of his ministers visited Zanjan on Saturday to inaugurate some development and infrastructure projects in the northwestern province.
