--  Metals, minerals worth $350m traded in IME

The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) announced that a total of 2.43 million tons of various products, worth about $350 million, were traded at IME’s domestic and export metal and mineral trading hall in the week closing on January 5.
According to a report by ime.co.ir on Saturday, over 3.11 million tons of commodities, worth over $624 million, were traded in its domestic trading and export halls.

--  Iran to launch joint investment funds with Russia, Oman, Saudi Arabia

A member of the Board of Executive Directors of the National Development Fund of Iran (NDFI) said the country has plans to set up joint investment funds with the Russian Federation, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
The NDFI is after cooperating with the funds of the neighboring states and negotiations are underway with Russia to launch a joint investment fund, Hossein Eyvazlou stated.

--  Iran-Russia annual trade beats $5b: Lawmaker

The annual bilateral trade of Iran with Russia stands at over $5 billion, announced the deputy head of the Iran-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group, adding that both countries enjoy great potentials which can help increase the level of Tehran-Moscow ties.
Talking to Iran Daily, Mojtaba Yousefi criticized the volume of current exchanges between Iran and Russia, noting that the ground should be paved for a significant increase in the level of commercial exchanges.
According to official statistics, trade exchanges between Iran and Russia increased from $2.22 billion in 2020 to $4.6 billion in 2022.

-- Iran to Refer Assassination of Gen. Soleimani to ICJ

Iran plans to file a petition with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the U.S. assassination of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, as part of legal and judicial efforts by the Islamic Republic to bring to justice the perpetrators of the drone strike that killed the anti-terror icon.
The petition is currently being prepared and will be submitted to the ICJ as the only qualified body to deal with the case, Tavakkol Habibzadeh, the head of the Presidential Office’s center for legal and international affairs said on Saturday.

--  Ex-Iraqi PM Recalls Gen. Soleimani’s Role in Iran-Saudi Rapprochement

Former prime minister of Iraq Adil Abdul Mahdi has recounted the primary role of late Iranian commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani in paving the way for rapprochement between Tehran and Riyadh.
In an interview with Iran’s Tasnim news agency on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of General Soleimani, Abdul Mahdi highlighted the late commander’s contribution to the thaw in relations between Tehran and Riyadh.

--  Bushehr Province Holds 1st Maritime Exhibition

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has reported that the first Specialized Maritime Exhibition in southern Bushehr Province was held during January 2-5,
According to Muhammad Shakibi-Nasab, the director general of Bushehr Ports and Maritime Affairs Department, the specialized exhibition has been with warm welcome by companies active in this field, especially knowledge-based firms.

--  Iran beat Russia in Handball Friendship Cup

 Iran’s men’s handball team defeated Russia 29-26 in the four-team Friendship Cup on Saturday. The match was held at the Volleyball center "Dynamo" in Moscow.

Iran had lost to Belarus 29-28 in their first match on Friday. Team Melli are scheduled to play youth Russia team on Sunday. 

--  Book on Gen. Soleimani unveiled in Malaysia

 In honor of the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, a book highlighting his instrumental role in dismantling the ISIS terrorist group has been unveiled during a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Iranian residents were in attendance during the ceremony, held on Friday, where the Malay and English version of “General Qasem Soleimani: The Wayfarer Who Ended ISIS” was presented, IRNA reported on Saturday.

--  President Raisi inaugurates several infrastructure projects in Zanjan Province

 Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and a group of his ministers visited Zanjan province on Saturday to inaugurate some development and infrastructure projects in the northwestern province, IRNA reported.

Raisi, who was scheduled to visit Zanjan on Friday for a two-day visit, arrived in the province early on Saturday morning and told reporters that his visit was postponed due to an emergency visit to Kerman Province to pay tribute to the martyrs of the terrorist attack in the mentioned city.
