Iran, Uzbekistan call for developing technological cooperation

Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s Deputy President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-based Economy Rouhollah Dehqani Firouzabadi, and Uzbekistan's Deputy of International Cooperation Fazliddin Muminov have urged the development of technological cooperation between the two countries.

Dehqani Firouzabadi met and held talks with Muminov and entourage in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Saturday.

Referring to the fields of cooperation between Tehran and Tashkent, Dehqani Firouzabadi underlined that there are deep-rooted cultural ties between the two countries that help to facilitate cooperation between the two sides.

He said the Islamic Republic of Iran does not want to have just economic ties with Uzbekistan but also wants to develop cooperation in various fields.

Explaining the details of cooperation between the two countries, he said that sharing research experiences, collaborating with academics and researchers, establishing a joint science and technology park, and defining technological projects are part of this cooperation.

Muminov, for his part, referred to Iran’s valuable achievements in the fields of technology, research, and laboratory equipment, noting that good results were reached in the fields of research and technology cooperation between the two countries.

He added that the good cooperation between Iran’s Sharif University of Technology and Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences plus the joint science and Technology Park of the two countries are in line with the scheduled cooperation program between the two sides.
