Kazakhstan joins int’l chorus of condemnation of Kerman attacks

Tehran, IRNA – Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has condemned the Wednesday terrorist attacks in the Iranian city of Kerman, becoming the latest world leader to express sympathy over the tragic incident that left 84 people dead during a ceremony to mark the fourth US assassination anniversary of Iran’s anti-terror icon General Qassem Soleimani.

In a message to his Iranian counterpart on Thursday, President Tokayev extended his condolences to the Iranian nation and wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the attack.

Also on Thursday, Northern Cyprus condemned the terrorist incident in Kerman, and extended condolences to the families of the victims as well as the people and government of Iran.  

Top officials of other countries, from Germany to Ireland, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela have all denounced the Kerman attacks.

The European Union, the bloc’s foreign policy chief, the United Nations secretary general along with Russia, Pakistan and different countries in West Asia have slammed the terrorist act as well, calling for the perpetrators to be punished.
