11K Palestinians arrested in occupied West Bank in 2023

Tehran, IRNA – The Palestinian Prisoner's Society says that 11,000 Palestinians were arrested in 2023, including 1,085 children and 300 women.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society announced that the occupying Zionist regime detained about 11,000 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in 2023, and half of them were arrested after October 7 (Operation Al-Aqsa Storm).

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has stated recently that it has been documented that most of the self-decided detentions, unlawful detentions, and reported cases of torture and other forms of ill-treatment of Palestinian prisoners have happened in the West Bank.

It also added that around 4,785 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank since October 7, 2023.

The Israeli regime waged a bloody war against the Gaza Strip on October 7 after the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas carried out a retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity for its atrocities against Palestinians.

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 22,313 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 57,296 others.
