Talking to IRNA on Wednesday, Shahriar Heidari, a member of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) Border Committee, said that Iran has called on Pakistan to intensify control on its borders or allow Iran to take the necessary steps to deal with terrorist groups within a radius of a few kilometers inside Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan has not yet responded to calls, Heidari said, however, adding that Iran cannot further hesitate in this regard.
“We cannot accept that the territory of the neighboring country turn into a safe haven for the terrorist groups and enemies of our country, and we will definitely take the necessary measures to deal with these terrorist groups,” the lawmaker said.
Iranian intelligence agencies are probing into the case of Rask terrorist attack and the terrorists will be arrested sooner or later and they will receive a decisive response, he added.
In a December 15 terrorist operation in the city of Rask, near the joint border with Pakistan, 11 Iranian police officers were martyred.
