Bakhtiar made the remarks on his page on social networks on Sunday to congratulate the New Year 2024 which is coincident with the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
Bakhtiar cited the resumption of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia through China’s mediation, Tehran's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS bloc of emerging economies as examples of successful diplomatic cooperation between Iran and China in 2023.
Iran and China signed a 25-year document on comprehensive cooperation in March 2021; which Iranian officials have referred to as an important development in the Middle East region to further deepen bilateral relations in different economic areas.
