Expanding naval coalition in Red Sea increases Yemen’s targets in region: Yemeni minister

Tehran, IRNA –Yemeni National Salvation Government's information minister Daifallah Al-Shami has stressed the continued support for the Palestinian people and said that as the naval coalition expands in the Red Sea region, the targets increase for the Yemeni army.

In an interview with The New Arab on Monday, Al-Shami said that the position of the Ansarullah resistance movement on the formation of an international coalition in the Red Sea is clear, and any such coalition is in support of Zionist vessels and openly supporting the Zionist regime in committing crimes and killing the Palestinians.

He reiterated that Yemen’s stance against the Zionist regime is unchangeable and they will continue to support Palestinians.

Referring to the magnificent pro-Palestine rally in Yemen, he highlighted that his country supports the decision of the Yemeni leadership and is ready to face any possible scenarios.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that Yemen considered Saudi Arabia decision’s on not to join the maritime coalition as a positive step, saying that the Saudi-Yemeni negotiations have also made good progress and Saudi Arabia has taken positive steps to get out of the swamp which the US created and invaded Yemen.

In recent weeks, Yemen’s army carried out several attacks on Israeli or Israeli-bound ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait with the aim of pushing the regime to stop war crimes and let influx of foodstuff and medicines into the Gaza Strip.

The Zionist regime waged the brutal war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance movement carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 20,424 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 54,036 others.
