Calcalist, an Israeli newspaper, in a report laid out the impact of the Yemeni attacks on ships bound for the Israeli-occupied territories, particularly the Port of Eilat.
“Major shipping companies have suspended shipping in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal due to the threat of the [Ansarullah resistance movement], which will cause heavy damage to the Port of Eilat and will delay the arrival of ships,” it said.
The report pointed out that new alternative routes will increase transportation costs, arguing that Washington’s threats against Yemen have intensified the tensions in the region.
The US has announced plans to build a military coalition in the Red Sea in response to Yemeni attacks on ships bound for the Israeli-occupied territories in retaliation for the occupying regime’s brutal war on the Gaza Strip.
At least 12 shipping companies have already suspended transit through the Red Sea due to safety concerns.
Israel waged the devastating war on Gaza on October 7, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out a retaliatory operation against the regime. Regional resistance movements, including Yemen’s Ansarullah, have targeted US and Israeli interests in the region in support of Palestine.
