At least 11 Iranian police officers have been martyred in an attack on a police station in the southeastern border province of Sistan-Baluchestan.
Deputy Governor-General of Sistan-Baluchestan province, Alireza Marhamati said on Friday that senior police officers and soldiers were martyred and injured at the 2am (22:30 GMT Thursday) attack in the town of Rask, about 1,400km (875 miles) southwest of the capital, Tehran.
The Jaish e Adl group, which has an active presence in the province bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan, reportedly claimed responsibility for the overnight attack.
