Iran FM meets Indonesian counterpart in Geneva

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met and held talks with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Amirabdollahian who is in Geneva to attend the World Refugee Forum meeting (UNHCR) met and held talks with Marsudi on Wednesday evening.

Pointing to the necessity of increasing joint efforts to develop bilateral relations, the top Iranian diplomat stressed the importance of implementing signed agreements between the two countries.

Given the failure to realize any goals in the Gaza war, the US and the Zionist regime are seeking to complete their studies and plans for post-war Gaza by continuing the war, he noted.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, Amirabdollahian emphasized that the US should know that the failure to stop the war against Gaza could complicate the situation in the region and would spiral out of control.

Marsudi, for her part, described the condition in Gaza as difficult and worrying, stressing the need to continue efforts to end the attacks against Gaza and stop the war.

Referring to the Arab-Islamic summit in the Saudi city of Riyadh, she said that the meeting had an important message that urged solidarity among Islamic countries.

Iranian Foreign Minister has traveled to the Swiss city of Geneva to take part in the Global Refugee Forum co-hosted by Switzerland and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva from 13 to 15 December 2023.
