IRNA, Kyodo agree on sharing experiences in media

Guangzhou, IRNA – The top officials of the Iranian and Japanese news agencies have held a meeting in a Chinese city to review ways to expand bilateral ties and experience new areas of media cooperation.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the World Media Summit in China between Managing Director of Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency Ali Naderi and President of Japan’s Kyodo News Toru Mizutani, IRNA reported on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the two sides agreed to arrange and sign a document on cooperation in the technical and multimedia areas to upgrade the level of bilateral relations.

According to the officials’ remarks, the two sides regularly exchange their news.

Talks on the next meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) scheduled to be hosted by Kyodo News were held between Naderi and Mizutani, too.

Presently, IRNA is the president of OANA.

The 5th World Media Summit is underway in Guangzhou, southern China, with the participation of directors of 197 international media since December 3.

The summit is being convened under the theme of "Boosting Global Confidence, Promoting Media Development".
