President Díaz-Canel made the remarks addressing a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi here in Tehran on Monday.
This meeting has been held after more than 20 years, a meeting that is in line with the continuation of friendly relations that Fidel Castro maintained during his era, and it is to reaffirm that Iran is our friend and brother country in the Middle East, he said.
He condemned the US' interventionist measures against Iran.
The Cuban president also offered readiness to support the legitimate right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to determine its own destiny and sovereignty.
"We thank the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support to Cuba to fight against the US’ cruel blockade," he stated.
The common will of Iran and Cuba is to condemn the genocide of the Palestinian nation at the world level, he added.
"We also condemn the killing of thousands of Palestinian women and children and call for an immediate ceasefire to create conditions for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, President Díaz-Canel said.
