‘US policy to contain Iran, resistance movements failed’

Tehran, IRNA - Representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Iran Nasser Abu Sharif has described the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm as the cause of failure of the United States’ plot to contain the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance movements.

Addressing correspondents in a news conference in the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday, Abu Sharif said that the US sought to contain Iran and the axis of resistance by the use of the so-called normalization of ties between certain Arab states and the Israeli regime based on the Abraham Accords as well as forcing them to create relationship.

He added that Operation Al-Aqsa Storm helped thwart the US’ plot to redesign the arrangements in the West Asia region.

The American authorities intended to turn Tel Aviv into a hub for their regional command because the US is well aware that its only steady and real ally and its base in the region is the Israeli regime, Abu Sharif said, adding that the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm got in the way of implementing the conspiracy.

The US was seeking to re-engineer West Asia before withdrawing from the region in a bid to pave the way for focusing on the Far East and China, he argued.
