According to IRNA, protesters spilled onto the cold and snowy streets in different cities across the UK, once again displaying waves of their anger and outrage over the massacre of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Participants in the protests, called “National Action Day for Palestine", waved Palestinian flags and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They also called for Israeli crimes in Gaza to be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Ben Jamal, the director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, told IRNA, “What is happening in Palestine is a situation of injustice and oppression. The main reason for the current violence we are witnessing is the Israeli military occupation and the imposition of an apartheid system on all the people of Palestine.”
“We are focused on a permanent ceasefire in Gaza to end the hostilities in this region,” he added.
Over the past eight weeks, protests have been held across the UK every Saturday in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, who have suffered immensely since the Israeli regime launched a war against the enclave on October 7.
Last Saturday, hundreds of thousands of protesters from various ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds gathered in central London, shouting against the Zionist regime. Some protesters had white flags soaked in red blood as a symbol of protest against the massacre of Palestinian children.
More than 15,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, since the war began.
