Developed countries should pay damages of climate change: Iran's energy minister

Tehran, IRNA - Compensation for damages caused by climate change cannot be imposed on developing countries, and thus their development process as an inalienable right cannot be stopped or slowed down while compensation for damages and losses by developed countries should be considered.

The energy minister emphasized the need to take measures to stop the crimes by the Zionists.

He said that the climate change as one of the major crises in today's world has caused an increase in extreme and extreme weather events in the world, especially in the Middle East.

"As a result, food and water security, health and life of the human race have been seriously endangered," he added.

Mehrabian pointed out that the emergence of concepts such as "common but different responsibility" in the world literature and its establishment as a "community commitment to the world community" is an important and progressive step, and its serious follow-up is needed until the result is achieved.
