“The Americans attribute any incident to us through lies because they know Iran has dominance, and it is the Islamic Republic of Iran that has the final word in the region,” Brigadier General Ashtiani said on Monday.
The defense minister pointed out that Iran has achieved significant progress in the defense sector despite Western sanctions against the country.
“Now, with a more open environment, these advancements will undoubtedly continue,” he added.
General Ashtiani was referring to the expiration on October 18 of the United Nations’ arms embargo on Iran. The termination came into force eight years after Iran signed a nuclear deal with world powers, which included a timetable on when those bans would end.
